Since 1902, the TLS has scrutinized, dissected, applauded, and occasionally disparaged, the work of the twentieth century's leading writers and thinkers. Many of those same writers and thinkers have been notable contributors to the paper - from T.S. Eliot and Virginia Woolf in the 1920s to Gore Vidal and Seamus Heaney today.

LONDON REVIEW OF BOOKS
Publication period: twice monthly
The London Review of Books was founded in 1979, during the year-long lock-out at the Times. For the first six months, the LRB appeared as an insert in The New York Review of Books. In May 1980, the London Review of Books jumped out of the parental pouch and became a fully independent literary paper. It has been published twice a month ever since.

THE NEW YORK REVIEW OF BOOKS
Publication period: fortnightly
With a national circulation of over 115,000, The New York Review of Books has established itself, in Esquire's words, as "the premier literary-intellectual magazine in the English language." The New York Review began during the New York publishing strike of 1963, when the present editors, Robert Silvers and Barbara Epstein, and their friends, decided to create a new kind of magazine - one in which the most interesting and qualified minds of our time would discuss current books and issues in depth.

KIRKUS REVIEWS
Publication period: twice monthly
Kirkus Reviews, founded in 1933, is published 24 times annually and reviews, two to three months pre-publication, approximately 5,000 titles - Fiction, Mystery, Science Fiction, Foreign Language, Non-Fiction and Children's - per year. The reviews are reliable and authoritative, written by specialists selected for their knowledge and expertise in a particular field.
